The IDENTIFIER Plus computerized telemessaging system allows you and your employees to take and deliver messages effectively from any phone or business phone system. With the IDENTIFIER Plus, you are able to answer, patch or even call forward your DID (Direct Inward Dialing) calls to another location to save on costly labor expenses. Here's How It Works
The IDENTIFIER Plus can be configured to receive 4 to 16 incoming calls at a time. It also has 4 to 16 output jacks to your telephone systems for answering the calls. The Identifier Plus receives an incoming call and alerts our operator in three ways. First, the Identifier rings the phone system at all operator positions. Second, the Identifier displays the client DID number and answer phrase on the video display, at each operator position. Third, the Identifier causes the appropriate button for the incoming call to flash on the phone, at all operator positions. To answer the call, the operator merely pushes the flashing button on the telephone and the answer phrase displayed on the screen. To pick up another call, the operator puts the first caller on hold using the telephone's hold button and then pushes the button that is flashing. Up to 16 calls can be answered and put on hold simultaneously.
Expandable
The IDENTIFIER system is expandable from 4 to 16 DID trunks. The Identifier holds 800 client records, regardless of the number of DID trunks being used. Also, since the Identifier Plus works with any standard business phone system, you are able to expand to additional operator positions by simply adding another phone and an inexpensive CRT monitor.

In a 24-hour answering service, the bulk of your messaging traffic occurs in the daytime. As you well know, it is hard to find someone who is willing to stay up all night, especially when there is little to do. This also creates a substantial drain on your profits.
Our exclusive Call Forwarding feature allows you to transfer those DID calls to another location after hours, saving costly labor expenses. When a call comes in to your home or an operators home, it will be identified by a steady beeping sound on your home telephone (after you have answered the call) signifying that there is a call from your service. You simply push the (#) key on your phone and the Identifier, with a voice chip, will verbally give you the DID number. Then press the (*) key and the caller is connected to you. It's as simple as that! Note: The caller will hear only a standard ringing sound, while you hear the DID number being spoken.

The IDENTIFIER System
The IDENTIFIER system consists of four separate parts. The first part is the master video adaptor. The video adaptor has connections for 4 video terminals, connections for 4 DID interface modules, connections for 2 RS-232 "PC" serial ports, a parallel printer port connector and 2 memory card slots. The second part of the Identifier system is the DID interface module. This module has connections for 4 DID trunks (tip and ring-in), connections for 4 patching (conferencing) ports and a dual RS-232 serial port connector used for connecting to the master video adaptor, or direct to an IBM "PC." The third past of the Identifier system is the video terminal. Up to 4 terminals may be added to the Identifier system. Each terminal has a connector for cable connection to the master video adaptor. In addition, an operator keyboard may be connected to each video terminal. The forth part of the Identifier system is the business telephone system. Any business telephone system that is capable of connection to standard tip and ring is acceptable for use with the Identifier Plus.
How The System Works
The IDENTIFIER system works as follows: The master video adaptor (size of a computer modem) is programmed to display either 4 calls per screen, 8 calls per screen, or 16 calls per screen. This programming can be changed instantly by inserting a new memory card (side of a credit card). There are two slots for the memory cards so you can make backup copies of all 800 client records at any time (just like floppy disks). Connected to the video adaptor are the DID interface modules. You may connect up to 4 modules, with each module capable of 4 DID trunks, for a total of 16 DID trunks. These DID modules, being the most expensive element of the Identifier system, have been designed in such a way that you can add additional modules (at any time) according to your budget and client base. A general rule of thumb for the answering service industry is 25 clients per DID trunk. Therefore, if you started out with 1 DID module and 1 or 2 workstations (video terminals), you could handle about 100 clients. Or, by simply adding another 1 to 2 workstations, you could handle several hundred clients, because more operators handle calls faster!
Paperless Software
With the addition of an IBM compatible "PC" computer and the appropriate software, the Identifier Plus becomes a complete "Paperless Messaging System". Software features include: Full type-in messaging, Automated billing, Fax, Voice Mail, Beeper and Alpha Pager capability. Connection of the Identifier Plus to you IBM or compatible computer is accomplished through a simple RS-232 serial port that is provided on each DID module, as well as on the master video adaptor. At present, several software companies offer programs (www.GalacticMessageControl.com and www.SouthernStatesTelephone.com) that allow for full paperless messaging. Patching
Our internal patching feature will allow you to cross-connect an incoming DID call to any standard out-dial line, making it possible to have from 4 to 16 patches going on simultaneously.
Management Reports
With the IDENTIFIER Plus and an inexpensive parallel printer, you will be able to print out 3 types of management reports. First, a summary report of how many calls each client has received may be printed out at any time. Second, on the fly (as each call comes in) the account number, the DID number, time of call in, as well as time of call disconnect, will be printed. Third, a hard copy of all customer information (the entire database of all 800 client records) may be printed out as a back-up.
Warranty
The IDENTIFIER Plus comes with a full 1 Year Warranty. If during the first year, there is evidence of defects in material or workmanship requiring repairs, all charges for parts, labor and shipping will be fully covered. Additionally, an advance replacement loaner unit will be made available for a small, fully refundable deposit. After the first year is up, an extended maintenance contract will be offered, on a yearly basis.
